Seller Story: Ted Gantz
Theodore “Ted” Gantz is a Cincinnati legend whose work bridged the gap between classical myth and modern design.
From his iconic Sycamore Street Studio, Gantz continues a decades long career as a master of “assemblage,” blending industrial metals with organic forms like seashells and hand-blown glass to create what he calls “functional art.” His pieces are never just decor; they are meticulously crafted to live within a home.
Gantz’s creative fingerprints are hidden all over the Queen City’s history. He famously spent 20 years as the primary artistic visionary for Charles Fleischmann III, for whom he designed the guest house, lush gardens, and intricate architectural details of the historic Indian Hill estate.
More recently, he served as a vital consultant in the restoration of the stolen Capitoline Wolf statue in Eden Park, using his expertise to help return a piece of Italian heritage to the community.
