Reed & Barton and European "Kings" Sterling Silver Flatware (Approx. 118 Pieces)

Item Details

Description: An extensive assembled sterling silver flatware service in the traditional ‘Kings’ pattern (also known as Fiddle, Thread, and Shell). The service features double-struck handles with shell motifs on the terminals and heels. The set includes pieces from various distinguished makers, including Dominick & Haff (New York), Reed & Barton (Massachusetts) (marked on blades), and Wilkens & Söhne (Germany). The German pieces are notably stamped ‘WILKENS 925’ with the Reichmark (crescent and crown), indicating a sterling export standard rather than the typical German .800 silver. Some knife handles bear English hallmarks (Lion Passant, Leopard’s Head).
