The architectural design is further emphasized by a fluted apron and eight tapered legs, with the front four legs displaying characteristic fluting associated with the style. The piece is upholstered in a gold-toned striped fabric with heart-patterned detailing and finished with a dense row of brass nailhead trim along the borders. The out-swept arms and slightly arched back create a graceful silhouette typical of late 19th-century French-inspired furniture
