This American Arts & Crafts slant-front desk is constructed from quarter-sawn oak, featuring a prominent ‘tiger oak’ grain throughout. The desk is designed with a hinged slanting lid that opens to reveal an interior fitted with pigeonhole compartments and a small central drawer. Below the writing surface is a single full-width drawer with a central brass escutcheon, flanked by two square cabinet doors. Unique pyramid-head wooden pulls are used for the drawer and doors, emphasizing the rectilinear Mission aesthetic. The unit is elevated on four sturdy square legs, with a paneled wood back featuring a fragmentary manufacturer’s label.
