Rookwood Pottery Vellum Glaze Reticulated Umbrella Stand, 1917
Item Details
This significant Rookwood Pottery umbrella stand, produced in 1917, features a sophisticated Vellum glaze and elaborate reticulated decoration. The cylindrical body is ornamented at the top with a relief-molded pattern of oak branches, leaves, and acorns that form a pierced lattice transition into the solid base. The color palette moves from a muted sage green at the foliage to a warm neutral tan, finished with a matte Vellum surface showing characteristic fine crazing. The underside is clearly marked with the Rookwood flame logo, the shape number 1717Y, and a matte finish designation.
