Pair of Louis XV Carved Giltwood Trumeau Mirrors

Item Details

A matching pair of tall, arched mirrors in the Rococo (Louis XV) taste. Each features an openwork giltwood frame with scrolling acanthus leaves, C-scrolls, and a prominent asymmetrical foliate cresting finial. The mirror plates are divided into two sections by a horizontal cross-bar. The upper plate of one mirror features a silhouette-style verre églomisé scene of figures under a canopy. The reverse shows traditional rough-hewn wooden backboards with an antique storage tag from ‘Ryan & Christie Storage Inc., Bryn Mawr, Pa.’
