This 20th-century Chinese six-panel folding room divider features a polished black lacquer finish. The front panels are decorated with a landscape scene featuring applied carved soapstone courtesans, architectural pavilions, and garden elements framed by stenciled gold borders. The reverse face is adorned with hand-painted gold bamboo and floral motifs, and the screen is finished with protective brass caps on the feet.
