This handmade Afghan Taimani Baluch wool rug illustrates the rugged nomadic weaving traditions of western Afghanistan, featuring a moody, deeply saturated palette of dark madder red, chocolate brown, and deep indigo blue. The central field showcases a prominent stylized geometric stacked column medallion layered with structural latch-hooks and geometric fillers. The field terminates at the base in a series of stylized niche structures, surrounded by multiple coordinating narrow geometric guard borders. Built with a heavy, soft hand-knotted wool pile on an all-wool foundation, this tribal accent piece is completed with natural light-colored fringe ends.
