This hand-tufted wool area rug features a vibrant emerald green field centered by a multicolored floral medallion depicting a stylized rose. The composition is enclosed within a cream-colored border adorned with scrolling acanthus leaves and rose motifs in shades of pink, tan, and sage green. The pile is structurally carved to provide a three dimensional relief effect around the floral elements. The rug is finished with an applied off-white cotton fringe at two ends and a protective canvas backing typical of late 20th century Chinese textile production.
