Late Victorian Style Mahogany Bed Frame with Box Spring, Early 20th Century

Item Details

This early 20th-century bedstead is constructed of walnut and walnut veneers, showcasing a transitional Late Victorian aesthetic. The headboard is defined by a high, broad arch with smooth shoulders, while the footboard features a decorative shaped panel and simplified vertical spindles. Both elements are anchored by posts with traditional ring-turned finials and corresponding turned legs. A notable feature of this set is the integrated metal coil spring foundation supported by iron side rails. This piece represents the functional, mass-produced residential furniture of the pre-Depression era in America.
