Edwardian Style Mahogany Side-by-Side Secretary, Early 20th Century
Item Details
This early 20th-century mahogany ‘side-by-side’ secretary is a versatile example of Edwardian cabinetry. The unique three-part configuration features a central drop-front desk flanked by two tall, glazed bookcase cabinets. The desk façade is distinguished by a deeply carved scrolling foliate panel, opening to reveal a fitted interior of cubbies and a central documents drawer. Below the desk are three graduated serpentine-front drawers fitted with decorative brass bails. The entire assembly is elevated on five cabriole legs terminating in pad feet, including a central support leg for added stability. Finished in a rich dark mahogany, this piece offers a grand architectural presence for a home office or library.
