Edwardian Style Low-Backed Side Chair, 20th Century
Item Details
This Edwardian style Low-back side chair, dating from the early 20th century, is constructed of stained hardwood, likely maple or birch. The design features a low back with a distinctive yoke-shaped top rail and decorative fluting on the front legs. A navy velvet-upholstered seat provides a stark contrast to the dark wood finish. The structure is reinforced with a standard H-stretcher and retains factory assembly markings on the underside. This functional piece serves as an example of mass-produced bedroom furniture from the retrospective Victorian and Classical revival era.
