Wooden Occasional Table with Capuchin Monkey Print

Item Details

This decorative side table is executed in a traditional toleware style with a rich burgundy lacquer finish. The oval tabletop features a raised gallery edge embellished with a gilt leaf-and-vine border. At the center is a vibrant, hand-painted scene depicting two monkeys engaged with exotic fruit set against a mountainous landscape. The table is supported by a trestle-style base featuring double vertical supports and an arched floor stretcher, all accented with elegant gold pinstriping. While the design references classic 18th-century Chinoiserie, the material composition and textured finish identify it as a high-quality late 20th or early 21st-century decorative export piece.
