Neoclassical Style Wrought Iron and Cast Stone Pedestal, Late 20th Century
Item Details
A striking Neoclassical style pedestal designed with a combination of architectural cast stone and decorative ironwork. The square top features a deeply molded acanthus leaf frieze, resting upon four stone orbs that transition into a tapered wrought iron base. The frame is constructed of twisted metal legs joined by an elegant X-stretcher, centered by a floral rosette and topped with a small cast metal finial. The assembly is supported by a heavy, stepped stone plinth base. This piece exhibits the classic Eclectic-Traditional aesthetic and high-quality fabrication characteristic of late 20th-century.
