Regency Style Marquetry Pedestal Dining Table, Late 20th Century
Item Details
A substantial Regency Style double pedestal dining table designed to accommodate large formal gatherings. The oval tabletop is distinguished by high-contrast marquetry and parquetry veneers, featuring geometric starburst patterns and banded inlay borders. The table is supported by two robust turned pedestals, each resting on a tripod base. The legs of the pedestals are elaborately carved and terminate in dramatic, oversized lion-paw feet with scrolled acanthus leaf accents. This piece embodies the eclectic-traditional aesthetic and heavy architectural scale characteristic of late 20th-century.
