Late Biedermeier Style Mahogany Oval Occasional Table, 20th Century
Item Details
This 20th-century occasional table is an elegant interpretation of the Late Biedermeier style. The piece features a graceful oval top supported by a unique architectural base consisting of six slender columns—three on each side—creating a rhythmic, colonnade effect. The columns are grounded on a trestle-style base with out-swept bracket feet joined by a central flat stretcher. Crafted from mahogany with a warm, reddish-brown patina, the table exhibits the clean lines and geometric focus characteristic of Classical Revival furniture. While functionally sound, the piece exhibits an authentic aged character with visible finish wear and a vintage stabilization wire added to the undercarriage.
