’ Deborah is a self-taught professional polymer clay and mixed media artist from Cincinnati, Ohio.

She’s worn many hats during her lifetime, but the one constant is that she has always been an artist. Deborah says, “I’m curious and experiment with various mediums until I find those that suit my talents and bring me joy.” From drawing, painting, and ceramics, to sewing and fiber arts, she has dabbled with techniques and mediums and enjoys learning and experimentation.

She began using polymer clay in 2014 and started by making unique necklaces. As her interest in using more advanced clay techniques grew, she landed on mixed media art in 2019. In 2023, she started experimenting with text-to-image AI to create unique images to use in many of her works. She prints the images on water-soluble paper using a laser jet printer and transfers those images to polymer clay. After baking the clay, she hand-paints the images to enhance them. She also uses found or repurposed items as well as many other metal, crystal and resin embellishments in many of her works.

Deborah considers herself an artistic storyteller. She loves history, whimsy and symbolism and uses those elements to tell her story. ’
