This Mid-Century Modern sofa was manufactured by Whitecraft in Miami, Florida, during the 1960s. The piece features a sturdy frame constructed of natural rattan poles with decorative bentwood accents and a woven cane backrest and side panels. It is designed with a long, continuous seat cushion and three rectangular back cushions upholstered in a textured, multi-tonal brown fabric. The sofa’s underside reveals a wooden support frame reinforced with black-finished metal brackets. An original oval manufacturer’s label is affixed to the frame, confirming its origin. This sofa exemplifies the tropical-inspired modern aesthetic prevalent in Florida’s mid-century furniture industry.
