3'7 x 5'11 Hand-Knotted Persian Qashqai Area Rug
Item Details
A Persian Qashqai tribal rug featuring a central ‘Tree of Life’ motif on a deep madder red field. The composition includes a prominent stylized black and cream serrated trunk with diagonal branches extending across the field. The ground is densely populated with zoomorphic figures, including birds and quadrupeds, along with geometric floral medallions and botteh-style motifs. The corner spandrels are rendered in a midnight blue with stepped edges. The rug is finished with a striped overcast selvedge and short fringe at both ends. Construction consists of wool pile on a wool foundation.
