Belle Époque French Empire Style Marquetry and Bronze Mounted Commode

Item Details

A high-style French Empire revival commode featuring a marble top and integrated mirror. The mahogany is adorned with intricate chevron-patterned parquetry and mahogany veneers. The upper mirror section is flanked by two pedestals containing bronze bas-relief panels depicting dancing cherubs. The lower case consists of three central drawers with rose-garland bronze friezes, flanked by two curved cabinet doors. Notable features include gilt bronze (ormolu) figural term mounts, naturalistically cast foliate handles, and hand-cut dovetail joinery.
