Tourmaline comes from a mix of minerals, and stands apart from other gems by featuring a broad spectrum of colors in every shade. Some notable types of tourmaline include dravite, or brown tourmaline that’s rich in magnesium. Or rubellite (red tourmaline) rich in manganese. There is also the ever-popular parti-colored tourmaline that displays more than one color due to chemical fluctuations during crystallization.
