A collection of vintage to antique Colt firearm books, catalogues, manuals and epherema. The featured books are Colt’s Variations of the Old Model Pocket Pistol 1848 to 1872 (1957), second edition Samuel Colt: A Man and an Epoch by Martin Rywell (Pioneer Press, Harriman, Tennessee, 1955) and American Firearms: The Colt Supplement by Stephen VanRensselaer (Century House, Watkins Glen, New York, 1948). Manual 1927 Description of the Colt’s Double-Action Revolver, Caliber .45, Model 1909, With Rules for Management, Memoranda of Trajectory, and Description of Ammunition features five plates and is the June 30, 1913, revision of September 10, 1909, as ordered by the Secretary of War, R. Birnie (Government Printing Office, Washington, 1917). Two additional manuals are Manual of Small Arms and Special Weapons and Colt Handbook: A Manual on Handgun Use: Target Shooting and Defense Shooting. Two catalogues for Colt firearms includes one with a 1914 price list (including war tax) for Colt revolvers and automatic pistols and a 1915 catalogue. A 1945 catalogue by Gimbel Brothers for antique fireams includes a collection of rare colt revolvers. A pamphlet titled 3 New World’s Records Made with Colt’s chronicles the Janury 21, 1922, setting of a new World’s Pistol Record by Warrant Officer H. Billingsley using a Colt Automatic Pistol, Caliber .22, Target Model.
