A Ca. 1860’s Darlot ‘Opticien’ wide angle lens of brass construction with three levers to adjust the opening aperture for the lens view. This piece is marked ‘Darlot Opticien Paris to the base of the collar. Alphonse Darlot received many honors for his optical achievements, including a silver medal from the Paris International Exhibition in 1867 and France’s highest honor, the Knight of the Legion of Honor medal, in 1892.
