Floral Needlework in Federal Style Oval Frame
Item Details
A hand-stitched needlework composition. This cotton embroidery depicts an arrangement of pastel-colored flowers in satin, stem, and chain stitching with french knots accenting the vase. It is unsigned and presented behind glass in an oval Federal style frame with acanthus leaf and cartouche composite molding in a gold tone finish. There is wire to the verso for hanging.

- heavy staining to upper half of textile with moderate discoloration throughout; accretion to glass and frame; scuffs and wear to frame with chips in molding to right and lower cartouches and lower left ornamental bands.
