A color lithographic printed map titled A Modern Pilgrim’s Map of The British Isles, designed by American cartographer Charles E. Riddiford and published as the supplemental to the June 1937 issue of the National Geographic Magazine under editor Gilbert Grosvenor. This pictorial map details England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales, listing the counties of each and labeling cities, castles, tourist attractions, major railways, roadways, and canals, with topographical details and elevations. It features cartouche title card, compass, and labels, with the four winds illustrated in each corner. The map is bordered by portraits of notable historical figures and vignettes from the area, with each corner featuring a scene from one of the countries. Publication and printing information is printed to the lower edge. The map is presented folded as issued.
