A ceramic tile plaque by Danish artist Poul Hermann Poulsen (1947-1999), the ceramic tile designer at the furniture firm Gangsø Møbler in Denmark in the 1970’s and 1980’s. This piece features a grid of six tiles mounted on particle board with a brown grout and glazed with an abstract design depicting three interlocking circles and streaked lines in black with fills and scatters of brown and golden yellow on a gray ground. The tiles are signed to the lower right corner and presented inlaid into a wooden frame with a beveled edge.
Condition
- minor discoloration to surface; scuffs, marks, and other wear to frame, including water damage staining to upper left; holes to verso of frame with some splintering from previous mounting; accretion to surfaces.
