A cast iron seal embosser. The seal reads ‘Reliance Lodge No. 209 I.H.S, Sexennial League, Instituted May 21, 1891, No. 289.’
The Sexennial League was founded in July 1888 as a benefits or relief fund for members, who would pay dues and abide by the laws of the organization, and later be able to receive monetary assistance in the event of sickness, disability, or death.
