Each book contains a color frontispiece with tissue guard with additional illustrations throughout the pages. Bound in green cloth with gilt to front, spine, and top edge. Volume I contains Frontiersman, Soldier, Lawmaker 1755-1788; Volume II Politician, Diplomatist, Statesman 1789-1801; Volume III Conflict and Construction 1800-1815; Volume IV The Building of the Nation 1815-1835.

Condition

Wear to edges of spine; overall minor discoloration of pages.
