A women’s mid to late 1950s vintage navy blue wool coat designed by fashion icon Pauline Trigère. The fully lined long tailored coat is styled with a classic peak collar, flattering vertical seams, hidden side pockets, six buttons down the front and three buttons at the cuff of straight sleeves. Additional detailing at the back, six buttons down the center with a deep vent, mimics the buttons at the front.

Pauline Trigère (French/American 1908 – 2002) was a well known couturier in the 1950s and 60s, best remembered for her inventive ready-to-wear fashions with expert tailoring. She won her first prestigious Coty American Fashion Critics’ Award in 1949 and her loyal clients included Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor and most famously Jacqueline Kennedy.
