A mid to late 1950s vintage couture black wool swing coat by style icon Pauline Trigère. The coat is styled with a stand-up collar with winged tips, three silver tone horizontal buttons down the front, patch pockets at the hips and slightly belled sleeves. The coat is fully lined.
Pauline Trigère (French/American 1908 – 2002) was a well known couturier in the 1950s and 60s, best remembered for her inventive ready-to-wear fashions with expert tailoring. She won her first prestigious Coty American Fashion Critics’ Award in 1949 and her loyal clients included Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor and most famously Jacqueline Kennedy.
