A late 1950s vintage couture ivory wool coat designed by style icon Pauline Trigère. The fully lined coat is styled with a wide peaked collar, one hidden button at the waist which has vertical pinch pleats all around, a thin self belt, patch pockets at the hips and straight sleeves.

Pauline Trigère (French/American 1908 – 2002) was a well known couturier in the 1950s and 60s, best remembered for her inventive ready-to-wear fashions with expert tailoring. She won her first prestigious Coty American Fashion Critics’ Award in 1949 and her loyal clients included Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor and most famously Jacqueline Kennedy.
