Vernon Rader was a well-loved Cincinnati artist and philanthropist. Rader moved to Cincinnati in the 1940s to pursue an art degree at the University of Cincinnati, studying under American industrial designer Russell Wright. Vernon became the art director at Proctor and Gamble.

Deaccessioned from the Art Academy of Cincinnati’s Collection. Proceeds to benefit future student programs. Founded in 1869, The Art Academy of Cincinnati is celebrating their 150th anniversary this year through the sale of limited works in the Collection.

- minor surface scratch to paint at top center of tree; scuff to front of frame at center left edge.
