A pastel drawing on paper by American artist Margaret ‘Peggy’ Zangerle (1925-1997). This piece, dated 1956, depicts the portrait of a woman with blonde hair an piercing blue eyes wearing a muted peach-colored turtleneck and large gold earrings. It is signed and dated to the lower right and presented behind a mat and glass in a wood frame with gold tone ornamentation and wire to the verso for hanging.

Condition

- foxing to drawing paper; discoloration and heavy foxing to mat; accretion spotting to underside of glass; molded frame ornamentation is separating from frame; scratches, chips, and wear throughout frame finish; discoloration and stains to frame backing.
