1841 Engraved Bronze "Royal Mail Steam Packet Co." Ship Bell

A bronze ship bell from the Royal Mail Steam Packet Co. ship Thames. The Royal Mail Steam Packet Company was founded in London in 1839 and became the largest shipping group by 1927. The Thames ship was commissioned in 1841 hence the engraved time period noted to the front of the bell.
