William Ernst Hentschel was a renowned artist at Rookwood Pottery considered the best of the Art Deco designers known for his matte Moderne vases and Ombroso glazed pieces. He was also a printmaker who developed two innovative stencil printmaking techniques in 1928. He termed one of these techniques ‘aquatone,’ which uses airbrush with multiple stencils.

- toning, discoloration, and warping to paper; toning to mat; scratches, dents, and chipping to frame.
