A 1734 antique volume of William Shakespeare’s The Two Gentlemen of Verona, printed for J. Tonson of London. This is the first ‘separate’ edition, with this play being published alone rather than as part of a larger collection of works. It features an engraved frontispiece by P. Fourdrinier, and an anti-piracy notice by W. Chetwood of His Majesty’s Company of Comedians, directed against unauthorized Shakespeare publisher R. Walker. Printed on laid paper, and bound in a modern, non-original full leather hardcover.
