An 1899 oil painting on canvas by listed American artist Patrick Vincent Berry (New York; 1852 – 1922). This painting, in the style of the Hudson River School, depicts several cows grazing in a idyllic landscape. It is signed and dated to the lower right, and is housed in an antique gilt gesso frame.
Patrick Berry studied art at Troy Academy, St. John’s College as well as Fordham University, where he later became a professor of art. He also studied under famed American landscape painter Albert Bierstadt (1830 – 1902).

- craquelure with areas of lift. Accretion across painting surface. Cracks, chips and accretion to frame.
