An early 20th century oil painting on canvas by listed American artist Clarence Braley (Massachusetts; 1854 – 1927). This painting, rendered in loose brushwork and a limited palette, depicts the spoils of the day’s hunt hanging from a branch, and resting in the snow. It is signed to the lower left and is presented without framing.
Clarence Braley, from New Bedford, Massachusetts, was a self-taught painter. He was a member of the New Bedford Art Association and exhibited at the Boston Art Club and the Art Institute of Chicago.

- painting has been relined. Scattered areas of inpainting. Wear at edges with small amount of paint loss to upper left corner. Light accretion across painting surface.
