Influenced by German Expressionism and graffiti elements, Keil is known for his simplified abstractions of traditional art subjects. He studied under Otto Nagel at a young age and developed relationships with other renowned artists such as Joan Miro. As Keil abandoned realism and developed his signature style, he used more vibrant colors rapidly applied with large gestural brushstrokes resembling the abstract style of Picasso.

- canvas has lost tension and warped; stretcher marks to each side; some cracks to paint; accretion to surface; light discoloration; wear to canvas edges; notable scuff to lower right corner.
