Griffin Faraday "Homopolar" Generator, Late 19th/Early 20th Century
Item Details
A circa 1900 antique Faraday ‘Homopolar’ hand cranked low voltage direct current generator. This unit generates current by rotating a conductive disc with copper contact plates and brushes through a static magnetic field produced within the brass housings at either end of the unit. The piece features English Walnut construction in a dark finish and is marked Griffin of Garrick St., London to the central post.
