A circa 1900 antique Faraday “Homopolar” hand cranked low voltage direct current generator. This unit generates current by rotating a conductive disc with copper contact plates and brushes through a static magnetic field produced within the brass housings at either end of the unit. The piece features English Walnut construction in a dark finish and is marked Griffin of Garrick St., London to the central post.
