The front of the cornice retains a gilt-metal label plaque embossed ‘Yawman and Erbe Mfg. Co. / Rochester, N.Y., U.S.A.’ In addition, the back edge of the top has a later, brass label plaque engraved ‘Property Of / D.T.&I. R.R.’, most likely referring to the Detroit, Toledo and Ironton Railroad.

Condition

- overall with various scratches, dents, marks, and abrasions consistent with age and use; structurally stable; two of the drawers have been rebuilt; drawer handles with some minor bends; handles on sides of case with a few small spots of surface rust.
