An original oil on masonite painting by well-listed commercial illustrator, Carolyn Moorhead Edmundson (1906-92). An absolutely wonderful example of the artist’s oeuvre, the breadth of which seems to have been commissioned work mostly for advertising purposes. The image rendered here, with wonderful 1940s fashions, features a pair of men’s hands helping a lovely lady light her cigarette. The painting is signed by the artist to the lower left-hand corner and is presented in a very simple gilt wood frame without glass.

Condition

Surface of painting is significantly worn, and badly needs reframed.
