A large walnut Jackson Press, signed in ink on the back, J E Candy, Marceline, MO, who is likely the original customer. The press has a shaped splash and gallery, above a drawer, over two paneled doors. The interior has a fixed shelf and the case stands on tall bracket feet. Circa 1860.
