A Fairmont MT19 Series B motor car or speeder car. These cars are used on closed railroad tracks for excursions and are also known as speeder cars. The motor car seats up to four people and is powered by a two cylinder, four cycle, air cooled engine. The drive includes a light weight, two speed transmission with reverse. The car frame is constructed of a light weight and strong aluminum alloy. The Fairmont has spring mounted axle bearings, sixteen inch diameter Fairmont demountable wheels, fully enclosed engine housing and aluminum extendable lift handles for setting the car on and off tracks. This lightweight rail vehicle has four wheel breaks operated by a hand lever, adjustable toggles and self-centering shoes. Also included are the Fairmont operators, service and parts manual, newsletters and publications of NARCOA (North American Railcar Operators Association) and past excursion routes, accommodations and schedules. The car is in a bright yellow finish with Union Pacific ‘The Overland Route’ shield tin placard and comes on a small custom trailer by Fulton.
