An offset print on paper titled Mujer Fatale by well-listed and world-renowned contemporary street artist Shepard Fairey (South Carolina/California; born 1970). The title for this print is Spanish for the character archetype “Femme Fatale.” The print itself depicts a dramatic black, red, and white portrait of a woman wearing a hat and scarf with Fairey’s “Obey” logo printed to its face. The word “PEACE” is printed to the lower right. Signed and dated by the artist to the lower right margin, dated 2018.

Shepard Fairey is one of the most influential and prolific street artists of the 21st century. Fairey is also known for his graphic designs, activism, illustration, and as the founder of OBEY Clothing. Emerging from the skateboarding scene, he first became known for his “Andre the Giant Has a Posse” campaign. This campaign was started while the artist attended the Rhode Island School of Design. Today, his work can be found in site-specific installations and at the Smithsonian, the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, and more.
