A 2018 signed open edition offset print on cream Speckle Tone paper designed and signed in graphite by well-listed and world-renowned contemporary street artist, Shepard Fairey (South Carolina/California; born 1970), titled Obey Face Collage. This piece is one component of a triptych, depicting a part of the face of “Andre the Giant”, overlaid and surrounded by pop culture images in shades of black, red and yellow. The piece is presented behind glass in a black composite frame with a hanging wire attached to the verso.

Fairey is one of the most influential and prolific street artists of the 21st century. He is also known for his graphic designs, activism, illustration, and as the founder of OBEY Clothing. Emerging from the skateboarding scene, he first became known for his “Andre the Giant Has a Posse” campaign. This campaign was started while the artist attended the Rhode Island School of Design. Today, his work can be found in site-specific installations and at the Smithsonian, the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, and more.
