An American sterling silver flatware set from Gorham in the Buttercup pattern features twelve each of the following pieces: dinner knives with sterling handles and stainless blades, forks, twelve salad/pasty forks, teaspoons, cocktail forks, ice tea spoons and soup spoons. In addition there is one angel food cutter, one small tomato server, a salad set, slotted spoon, one olive fork, salad spoon, small ladle, sugar spoon, large ladle, small ice cream server and two serving spoons. The pieces are marked with either the older ‘anchor’ pictorial hallmark or the new ‘Gorham’ mark. All pieces are marked sterling. The total approximate weight excluding the knives and cake cutter with stainless blades and tines is 91.425 ozt.
