Mechanical Stockinette Monkey Bellhop Doll

Item Details

An early twentieth-century mechanical stockinette monkey bellhop doll. The doll has articulated arms and legs with mohair hands and feet and is clothed in red and black felted uniform. A bell to the interior rings when arms and legs move. The doll is unsigned.

Condition

- to Poor, missing hair to feet and hands, with damage to face near chin, exposed body at leg, and unable to stand on its own. The bell mechanism to the interior rings but only in conjunction with arms and legs moving and is not easily repeated.
