A Chinese Northern Wei (AD 386 – 534) painted gray pottery soldier. The pottery figure stands erect, flat at the back with a well modeled face featuring a prominent brow and incised lines to represent a beard. The soldier is dressed in head gear and a draped robe in red pigment.
