A photogram by listed artist Anita Douthat (American; born 1950), created in 1999. This print features a layered image of botanical forms created through Douthat’s signature technique in which found objects are placed atop photosensitive paper, exposed to light, and later chemically toned and fixed. This work is unsigned. It is presented behind a white mat, under acrylic glass, in a black metal frame that is equipped to hang.

Douthat was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She studied at the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago and went on to earn an MFA the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. She was the recipient of a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and her work has been widely exhibited at numerous prestigious institutions, including: the Cincinnati Art Museum; Indianapolis Art Center; Ross Art Museum at Wesleyan University; and the Weston Art Gallery, Cincinnati. Her work is also held in the permanent collections of the Cincinnati Art Museum, the Columbus Museum of Art and the University of new Mexico Art Museum.
